Description

Delicious grilled shrimp marinated in a cilantro lime sauce and sweet chili sauce, cooked on a cedar plank for extra flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh shrimp (Shells removed and deveined)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 12 teaspoons brown sugar or sweetener
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (This is typically the juice of 1 lime)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (This is typically 1/2 a lime)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak your cedar plank in water for at least one hour before using it. Ensure it’s completely submerged in water.
  2. Preheat grill to medium heat (350 degrees).
  3. Place the shrimp on the cedar plank. Rub the olive oil over the shrimp and season with the spices.
  4. Grill the shrimp for 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked.
  5. Add the olive oil, lime juice, cilantro, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to a small bowl and stir.
  6. Add the shrimp to a separate bowl or container. Drizzle the cilantro lime marinade over the shrimp. Reserve 20% of the marinade to coat over the cooked shrimp for extra flavor.
  7. Grill the shrimp for 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked.
  8. Add the sweet chili sauce, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to a small bowl and stir.
  9. Add the shrimp to a separate bowl or container. Drizzle the sweet chili marinade over the shrimp. Reserve 20% of the marinade to coat over the cooked shrimp for extra flavor.
  10. Grill the shrimp for 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked.

Notes

  • For best results, let the shrimp marinate for at least 30 minutes before grilling.
  • Be sure to keep an eye on the shrimp while grilling to prevent overcooking.
  • The marinade can be adjusted to taste.
