Description

Delicious homemade churros coated in cinnamon sugar.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar for coating
  • 1 tsp cinnamon for coating
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat water, sugar, salt, and oil in a pot until boiling.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until smooth.
  3. Beat in egg until dough forms.
  4. Heat oil to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Pipe dough into small balls or short sticks.
  6. Fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  9. Toss warm churros in cinnamon sugar.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make sure the oil is hot enough for frying to achieve a crispy texture.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla to the dough.
