Description

This cornbread is a delicious and easy recipe perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Spray a 9×9 baking pan with non stick spray.
  3. Combine all ingredients into a bowl. Stir well.
  4. Pour into your prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cornbread comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool, and then cut and serve.

Notes

  • This cornbread pairs well with chili or soup.
  • For a sweeter version, you can increase the sugar by an additional ¼ cup.
