Description

Delicious homemade cookies made with butter and simple ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (unsalted or salted)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (plus more for sprinkling)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° and line baking sheets with silicone baking mats.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until fully combined.
  4. Slowly add in flour and salt until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Fit a cookie press with your desired disc and fill with dough.
  6. Press cookies directly onto the baking sheet, leaving a little space between each cookie.
  7. Sprinkle with sugar if desired.
  8. Bake just until the cookies are set and lightly browned on the bottoms, about 9-10 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool briefly on the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature.
  • You can substitute the vanilla bean paste with vanilla extract, but the flavor will differ slightly.
