Description

Delicious honey garlic chicken thighs that are baked to perfection, glazed with a savory sauce and garnished for a delightful presentation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 pieces bone-in (skin-on chicken thighs)
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp Knorr’s chicken bouillon powder
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional but recommended!)
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1½ tbsp jarlic (garlic with chilies in oil)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
  • Kosher salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • for garnish: sesame seeds & chopped cilantro or scallions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking dish with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a bowl, mix together ketchup, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire, ground ginger, jarlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Taste and adjust heat/sweetness to your liking.
  3. Pat chicken thighs dry. Lightly season with salt and pepper.
  4. Arrange chicken in the baking dish skin-side up and pour or brush ⅔ of the sauce all over the thighs.
  5. Bake uncovered for 1 hour at 350°F.
  6. Spoon on the remaining sauce and broil for 5-8 minutes until the glaze bubbles and caramelizes with golden charred edges.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro or scallions. Serve hot with white rice, roasted broccoli, or a crisp cucumber salad.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute honey with agave syrup for a vegan option.
  • Ensure to taste the sauce before pouring it over the chicken to adjust flavors as needed.
