A comforting Shepherd’s Pie made with ground lamb or beef, vegetables, and topped with creamy mashed potatoes.

- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared with butter and cream)
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, sauté the onions over medium heat until translucent.
- Add the diced carrots and cook until softened.
- Stir in the ground meat, browning it completely.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper; simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Mix in the frozen peas until heated through.
- Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish and top generously with mashed potatoes.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider using a blend of lamb and beef.
- You can also top the mashed potatoes with cheese for an extra creamy texture.
